Set Descending Direction

A caliper (calliper or callipers) is a device used to measure the distance between two opposite sides of an object.

The tips of the caliper are adjusted to fit across the points to be measured, the caliper is then removed and the distance read by measuring between the tips with a ruler.

Calipers are especially useful in wood turning or wood carving where it is impossible to directly read an accurate measurement across the workpiece with a ruler.

Types of caliper include: inside, outside, inside & outside, straight dividers, and vernier calipers
